I was inspired on a whim to model the uppermost section of the Sith trooper armor from the early 2000's Knights of the Old Republic game RPG series. The initial subD-intended model took a day, where I initially desired to finish the project. However, I was later spurred to retopologize and bake down the model to texture in Substance Painter to practice my texturing skills, particularly the use of anchor points for weathering and adding normal/height details. This extra work spanned across three more days.
Final polycount was 2,640 and I used a single 4k texture to push the visual fidelity of the textures as a portfolio piece. Rendered in lray within Substance Painter.
