I had an idea to create a brutalist fashion store. This is where my ideas are so far. I think my biggest push towards hyperrealism will lie in procuring the highest resolution textures I possibly can, and matching all lighting to real-world values.
Hello! This is my first WIP blog post to document the decisions I make through the creation of my newest real-time 3D environment for my portfolio. In the past (like with my Star Wars Dantooine Enclave scene) the way I would progressively share progress on a project would be the editing and republishing of the same blog post, but I don't want to lose the moment in time I would be by doing that. Thus, I'm utilizing this nice blog feature!
This project is meant for me to practice my skills in archviz and PBR, modern, non sci-fi or fantasy environments. The job market in the games & other entertainment industries is pretty rough right now, and I want to be able to tap into adjacent fields where I could use my modeling skills, like architecture, automotive, product design, so on and so forth.
My two favorite forms of architecture are that of the Brutalism and Arts & Crafts movements. For some reason, a dream house of mine has always been to live in side a perfect concrete cube. After rallying back and forth between different sizes to make the home, I decided on 8 meters, or around 26 feet. This gave me 2 interior stories with comfortable ceiling height and a rooftop deck with adequate side wall/railing. My floor plan for both interior levels was unchanged since the inception of the idea in my mind, yet upon the realization that I only have a single bedroom laid out, I've begun to think I need to add a second bedroom downstairs as well as enlarge the bedroom I currently have.
